Our lab is dedicated to assessing biomechanical factors associated with muscle and tendon injury in both athletic and general populations. We leverage medical imaging technologies (for example, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) and novel algorithms to quantitatively assess muscle and tendon structure, material properties, and physical function following injury, recovery, and rehabilitation. Ultimately, our research is geared toward improving physical health outcomes for patients, mitigating risk factors for athletic injury, and aiding in return to sport decision-making by providing quantitative information of overall tissue integrity.
