ROLE: President PREFERRED PRONOUNS: she/her/hers WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU: Stoughton, WI WHY KINEQT: After attending this university as an undergrad and now back here pursuing my PhD, I realize there’s numerous resources available to students, but these resources can be hard to find at times. I hope to help undergraduate students in accessing and navigating these resources to assist them in achieving their academic and professional goals. Additionally, I love how this program stands for equity, diversity, and inclusion while fostering community in the Kinesiology Department. I am excited to be a mentor to Kinesiology students and make similar impacts in their lives that my mentors have in my own. |

NAME: Ashlyn Berry
ROLE: Vice Co-President PREFERRED PRONOUNS: she/her/hers WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU: Burlington, WI WHY KINEQT: During my undergraduate years, I was overwhelmed by the challenges of living in my first big city and exploring numerous potential career paths. I changed my major and career aspirations several times before ultimately pursuing a research-intensive career in Kinesiology. Along the way, I was fortunate to receive guidance from peers, advanced graduate students, and professors whose mentorship profoundly influenced my academic journey and personal growth. I’m excited about the opportunity to serve in this group and support others as they navigate the uncertainty of their own undergraduate experience, helping them build confidence and find a career path they are passionate about. |

NAME: Tierney Athorp
ROLE: Undergraduate Committee Chair PREFERRED PRONOUNS: she/her/hers WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU: New Berlin, WI WHY KINEQT: Navigating university as an undergraduate often feels quite daunting and overwhelming, especially at a large school. Personally, I was very nervous about figuring out the different avenues I could pursue within Kinesiology. However, through the mentors and exceptional leadership of KinEqT, I was able to find my passion in healthcare and community development. Through the guidance and experiences that KinEqT has provided for me, I have discovered a strong passion for providing this same impactful guidance for others who were in the same position that I was. I am so excited for the opportunity to exercise my passion through this wonderful committee in order to reach more Kinesiology undergraduates and help them navigate their journey and find their passions too! |
