Thank you for visiting the UW-Madison ATEP website.

The Athletic Training Education Program features a strong mix of basic sciences, kinesiology courses, and athletic training subject matter. The program features clinical experiences in intercollegiate and secondary school settings. The ATEP has a history of excellent career placement and BOC certification success. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and recently received a favorable continuing accreditation review in July 2006. The program is scheduled for another self-study and on-site review in 2012-2013.

SPOTLIGHT

david bell in officeAsst. Professor David Bell's research team in the Wisconsin Injury in Sport Laboratory focuses on non-contact ACL injury prevention. He studies the relationship between joint laxity and knee injury and other risk factors associated with ACL injuries and how the double-legged squat can be used as a screening tool in clinical settings. His team is also working to develop evidence-based injury prevention programs and to validate corrective exercises used in injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Read More
