Mayrena Hernandez’s research highlighted in NATA during National Hispanic Heritage Month

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association has been highlighting some of their Hispanic/Latinx members who they feel are advancing the athletic training profession through research.

We are so excited to share their highlight of Mayrena Isamar Hernandez, a PhD Candidate in the Wisconsin Injury in Sport Lab. Mayrena combines her passions for athletic training and public health in her research which focuses on improving youth sports for low socioeconomic young athletes. Her work is very important and we are proud to have students in our program who are such strong advocates for diversity and cultural competency in athletic training and beyond.
