About the Lecture Series
Caroline Goss Thompson,
professor emerita of the
Occupational Therapy Program,
died on December 4, 2004, in
Madison, Wisc. at the age of 95.
Thompson came to the University
of Wisconsin in 1945 as the
director of the newly formed
Occupational Therapy Program.
Her leadership and great dedication to this small
undergraduate OT program allowed it to grow
into a nationally recognized site of educational
excellence in the field. Those of us privileged
to know Thompson as a colleague and a friend
will remember her tireless commitment to
occupational therapy, her skills in bringing
people together, her openness to new ideas,
her encouraging spirit, and her vision for the
future. This lecture honors the memory of
Caroline Goss Thompson - scholar, dedicated
leader, collaborator and generous friend of the
University. This memorial lecture is supported
by alumni contributions to the University of
Wisconsin Foundation.
The Caroline Thompson Lecture and Reception are free and open to the public. Advanced reservations are required. Please contact the Occupational Therapy Program office at:
