New MS Option for August 2011
The UW-Madison Department of Kinesiology graduate program is adding a new track to our available degree options for the MS in Kinesiology. We will now offer a“non-thesis” track, in addition to the existing tracks within the MS in Kinesiology degree (Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Motor Control and Behavior, and Physical Activity Epidemiology). Our traditional MS in Kinesiology degree tracks are geared predominantly toward training students to conduct research in movement and exercise. However, we recognize that prospective students may seek graduate level training in the field of but have interests other than research, and this new track will provide opportunities for graduate study in Kinesiology at UW-Madison for these students. Students in this new track will take advanced coursework in each of the traditional disciplines within the field and may also take courses from an approved list of electives from across campus, but completion of a thesis will not be required.
