Support the Department

The Department of Kinesiology is actively seeking philanthropic support in a wide range of areas. Through private gifts we can provide scholarships for deserving undergraduates, attract the best and brightest graduate students, and provide support for new departmental initiatives like the Montoye-Nagle and Safrit lecture series. We deeply appreciate the support we receive from loyal alumni and friends. Sending a contribution, whatever its size, is a great way to show your pride. Every gift makes a difference.

Through the University of Wisconsin Foundation, the official fundraising agency for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Department of Kinesiology is actively seeking gifts in the following areas:

Special Projects

There seems to be a never-ending supply of original projects worthy of funding in the Department of Kinesiology: research, outreach, special seminars and speakers, professional development, as well as building projects. Each year, private contributions support some of these projects. The new Montoye-Nagle Lecture and Safrit Lecture are projects we hope will receive ongoing support.

Scholarships

Through the generosity of private gifts, the Department is able to award multiple undergraduate and graduate scholarships. Each reflects the particular interests of its donor.

Endowments

Named endowed funds, endowed scholarships, and our ultimate goal of endowed professorships are central to our fundraising efforts. Endowments can provide guaranteed funds to support scholarships, research, and instructional activities. If you have an interest in a named fund, please contact the UW Foundation using the information below.

You can make a gift to the Kinesiology Department in any of the following ways:

  • Mail a check payable to the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Use the memo portion of your check to note how you would like your gift applied.
